Racing Beat's founding duo, Jim Mederer and Takayuki Oku, began modifying and building rotary engines for racing applications back in 1972. Three different Racing Beat RX-7s set new land speed records over a 25-year span.
Racing Beat parts are subject to availability, and may not be in stock. In some cases you may need to please allow time for shipping.
These fit the 2009+ Rx8s but have not been fully tested, and they will lower the car more than half an inch.
Racing Beat designed RX-8 coil springs are suitable for street or racing applications. Designed to offer a modest reduction in ride height, these linear rate springs interchange exactly with the stock springs.
The addition of a larger aftermarket sway bar can increase the stress loads on the original OEM sway bar end links. To combat these increased loads, Racing Beat has designed a set of OEM style aftermarket end links for the RX-8 to absorb the increased demands of a larger front sway bar.
Incorporated into the design of these links are larger 12mm mounting studs and matching retaining nuts. The sealed bearing is self lubricating and should offer many miles of maintenance free driving. Each set is sold as a front pair.
These end links are intended for street and autocross applications and are highly recommended for use with the Racing Beat bar. Although these upgraded end links can be used with the stock sway bar, we believe that the original links are adequately suited for use with the stock bar.
Due to the larger diameter studs provided on the Racing Beat end links, both the sway bar ends and the mounting holes on the chassis must be enlarged to accept the mounting studs. Provided in the end link kit is the appropriate sized drill bit and a drilling guide to accomplish this task. Also included are detailed instructions complete with drilling suggestions and torque specifications.
Note: The reason that the RB sway bar is provided with a 10mm hole is to allow use of the stock OEM end links. If we supplied the RB Sway Bar with a larger 12mm hole, then it would become mandatory to use the aftermarket links. Although the use of the RB End link Kit requires minor modifications, the rather cheap
The Racing Beat Intake Port Templates allow you to undertake your own standard bridge port efforts on any 12A or 13B engine (except 13B 6-port). These templates are traced from Racing Beat
The Racing Beat Intake Port Templates allow you to undertake your own "street" port efforts on any 12A or 13B engine (except 13B 6-port). These templates are traced from Racing Beat
The Racing Beat Race Exhaust Port Templates for all 12A engines allow you to undertake your own exhaust porting efforts. The race version of these templates open the exhaust port further "upwards", increasing the port timing duration which results in more intake-exhaust overlap and better high RPM performance. Our Type I Modified 12A Front Stationary Gears are strongly recommended for engines which are regularly running near or above 8,500 RPM. These gears have had several machining modifications performed, as well as heat-treating of the teeth to improve fatigue resistance and yield strength. Stock bearing is installed.
Our Racing Beat Type I Modified 12A Rear - Standard-Ungrooved--Stationary Gears are strongly recommended for engines which are regularly running near or above 8,500 RPM. These gears have had several machining modifications performed, as well as heat-treating of the teeth to improve fatigue resistance and yield strength. Stock bearing is installed.
Our Racing Beat Type I Modified 12A Rear (Special-Grooved) Stationary Gears are strongly recommended for engines which are regularly running near or above 8,500 RPM. These gears have had several machining modifications performed, as well as heat-treating of the teeth to improve fatigue resistance and yield strength.
Racing Beat's extremely popular laser-cut, MIG-welded, Full Stainless Steel, Front Engine Mount allows any 1974-85 13B engine to be installed into any 1979-85 12A RX-7 chassis with a minimum of difficulty. (The stock Mazda front engine mount for a 1984-85 13B GSL-SE will not work because of differences in the front cross member.) When this engine mount is used in conjunction with the 1984-85 GSL-SE 13B on any 1974-85 13B Engine RX-7 oil pan, this laser-cut stainless steel mount greatly simplifies installation.

Race Wires provides lower resistance (1k Ohm), but with substantial radio interference.
Racing Beat's ULTRA 8mm wire sets for Street and Race-Application 1971-1985 12A and 13B engines are constructed with zinc-plated high-strength copper wire to prevent corrosion. Threaded brass connectors are crimped to all wire ends to provide a superior connection. The silicone rubber used will handle over 100,000 volts and is capable of withstanding temperature ranges from -60 F to +480 F over exceptionally long periods. ULTRA Ignition wire sets have a wire wound resistor encapsulated in each spark plug boot. This feature reduces electromagnetic radiation.
Street wire sets combine excellent radio noise suppression with high performance (5k Ohm).

Heat Exchanger Cover Plate* - This flange will cover the opening that remains when the heat exchanger is removed from the intake manifold on a 1976-80 rotary engine.
The Streetable Header/Collector with Heat Exchanger Flange Outlet is intended only for use on the 1979-1980 RX-7. It is available in both 12A and 13B versions to accommodate those who install the 13B engine in the 12A equipped RX-7 chassis. While replacing the stock Heat Exchanger does not offer any significant horsepower increase, we recommend replacing the Heat Exchanger with our Mini Power Pulse Presilencer to reduce exhaust noise. Engine-to-pipe and heat exchanger gaskets are not included, but are available separately or as part of a complete exhaust system.
Racing Beat's Road Racing Header is the first step in building a serious racing exhaust system. The engine-to-pipe flange is flame cut from 1/2-inch thick flat steel. Like all of the headers we manufacture, the Road Racing Header is constructed with 2-inch O.D. mild steel tubing, .125-inch inch wall thickness, and mandrel-bends throughout.
1979-1985 RX-7 Front Sway Bar - Our Racing Beat-designed sway bars reduce chassis roll in turns and increase the RX-7's sensitivity to steering input, thereby improving maximum cornering power. We engineer these components to provide optimal front-to-rear balance utilizing select steel alloys, controlled heat-treating, and specific bar diameter and geometry.
This 1.125" OD sway bar comes complete with mounting hardware (including high-density urethane mounting bushings and bushing lubricant) and installation instructions. All Racing Beat sway bars utilize the stock sway bar links.
Racing Applications
The SRX-7 (SPEC-7) Rules ( Dated 1/1/05) allow for the use of this sway bar in this class.
1979-85 RX-7 Adjustable Rear Sway Bar - The Racing Beat adjustable sway bar kit is a fully comprehensive kit that includes everything needed to upgrade the rear sway bar on the early RX-7. Over the years this rear bar has been an extremely popular component with RX-tuners for good reason, it offers a wide range of adjustability that is unmatched by any bar on the market!
This .75" OD solid bar features a fully-adjustable set of bar arms to allow a nearly limitless range of adjustability. Each bar arm is fully secured to the bar end and allows the RX-7 driver to micro-tune the suspension to suit a particular driving style, course condition, tire set, etc..
Racing Beat has designed suspension coil springs that are suitable for a street or track use. This complete set of front and rear suspension springs were designed specifically for the 1979-85 RX-7 by Racing Beat
This Streetable Header/Collector is designed for a bolt-on installation, when used with the appropriate Power Pulse Presilencer in all 1981-83 RX-7s. The combination of this Header/Collector and the appropriate presilencer replaces the stock exhaust manifold and all catalytic converters, along with any intermediate pieces of tubing.
The Header/Collector assembly is constructed with .125-inch wall, mandrel-bend, mild steel tubing for increased durability. Both flanges are flame-cut from .4375-inch thick steel plate for positive gas sealing. An outlet gasket is included. An engine-to-header gasket is available separately.
