    (12) Mazda 86-95 13B OEM Side seals that we have cryogenically treated.

    We prefer the side seals Mazda offers which are longer that require hand fitting so that you can attain a tighter fit between side seal and corner seal to allow maximum compression and no blow by.

    Every rotor is different so it is better to get them longer to custom fit each slot, these are cheaper also than the pre-cut versions. You will need to remove approximately 0.05"(1.28mm) from each side seal. Slowly remove the material and try fitting them til you get an ideal fit of 0.002" - 0.006" (0.05mm - 0.15mm) with a maximum limit of 0.0157" (0.4mm).

    Do not use with lapped side housings.

    All of our apex seals are heat treated. The material for these seals has been developed by David Atkins over his extensive racing career in order to exceed stock apex seal life and durability. We have customers running 7 second quarter mile times with these seals. Customers use them in a wide variety of applications including turbo, NOS, superchargers, and naturally aspirated applications.

    Detonation will ruin any apex seal, none are immune from this problem. Some apex seals will bend under detonation, and become useless, due to lack of compression, these may break but they will do so inside of the rotor and save your housings. The benefit of these is that they can takes much more abuse before breaking than other seals can before bending.

  • 86-95 Rx7 13B 2mm Cryogenically Treated Solid Corner Seal Set (ARE88-C)

    This is an excellent upgrade to any engine. These are desirable under high boost or nitrous applications. This was designed by David Atkins and has been patented.

    This is a one piece corner seal. These can be used in place of the 2 piece Mazda corner seals with plugs. Can be used with the wire type corner seal spring or the 93-95 HP wafer type spring, which is recommended.

    Mazda basically copied our design with the Rx8, getting rid of their faulty rubber corner seal plug and opting for a steel one basically making their corner seals solid like these.

    The cryogenic treating process creates a denser, more uniform grain structure that allows heat to be dissipated more quickly and uniformly. This tighter molecular structure also increases strength, wear life, and fatigue life.

    Do not use these with lapped side housings.
