  • Atkins Designed 13B Oversize Main Engine Bolt Kit (ARE302)

    The Atkins Oversize Bolt Kit is designed to increase the structural integrity of the 13B engine under high horsepower applications.

    The rear, center, and both rotor housings need to be drilled out with a 1/2" drill bit (not provided) to allow the oversize bolt to pass through. The front side housing needs to be drilled as well as to be tapped with the provided drill and tap.

    At a bare minimum you will need a drill press to complete this task, the bolt holes in the front cast iron need to be straight and true, or the bolts will not thread when the engine is ready to be closed.

    A tap drill and bottom tap are provided to re-tap the front side housing, remember to use sound practices when tapping any holes.

    Five heat treated grade 10.9 bolts with a 12mm (M12x1.25mm) shank provide much more tensile strength and do not stretch like the stock tension bolts. Five tension bolt seals are also included to seal the bolts to the block.

  • 86-95 Rx7 13B 2mm Ceramic Apex Seal Set (ARE650)

    We have a stash of these, we aren't sure who the manufacturer is, but they are a nice ceramic seal. (Im fairly certain they are Ianettis).

    Ceramic apex seals from Mazda retail at over $3,000.

    Get these while they last, springs not included.

    Stock 13B 2mm apex seal springs work with these fine, but need to be modified.

  • 86-95 Rx7 13B 2mm Solid Corner Seal Set (ARE88)

    This was designed by David Atkins and has been patented.

    This is an excellent upgrade to any engine. These are desirable under high boost or nitrous applications.

    This is a one piece corner seal. Can be used in place of the 2 piece design with plug. Can be used with the wire type corner seal spring or the 93-95 HP wafer type spring. The 93 Style spring is recommended.

    Mazda basically copied our design with the Rx8, getting rid of their faulty rubber corner seal plug and opting for a steel one basically making their corner seals solid like these.

    Do not use these with lapped side housings.

  • 86-11 Rx7 & Rx8 Atkins' Thermal Pellet (ARE50)

    Fits 1986-2011 Rx7 & Rx8 models, doesn't work for rx7s before 1986.

    The factory thermal pellet acts like a thermostat for the oil system. When the oil is cold it does not allow full flow to the rotors for cooling, only enough for the bearings. As the oil warms up it allows more & more oil to flow. When this fails, it does so in the cold mode, thus not allowing oil to fully flow to the rotors, which overheats them and causes damage to the oil control rings. This does not increase oil pressure.

    When the factory thermal pellet starts going out the thing clients comment on the most is excessive oil smoke at start up, which tends to go away as the car warms up and the catalytic converter cleans up the exhaust. Some people even notice the oil pressure being slightly lower.

    Our replacement pellet keeps the engine oil in warm mode so that oil is always flowing to the shaft thus fixing the problem of the faulty factory thermal pellet.

    We don't know who started the rumor on the internet that this increases oil pressure, but it does not, for that you would need something like our increase oil pressure kit.

    Fits turbo & non-turbo.

  • 69-11 Rx7 & Rx8 Competition High Flow Eccentric Shaft Oil Jet (8553-11-411)

    Fits all rotary engines.

    One High Flow Competition Eccentric Shaft Oil Jet. If the stock eccentric shaft is being used in a high rpm engine, replace the stock oil jet check ball and spring with a Weber #200 carburetor air jet (part #77401.200).

    The Weber jet is simply pressed into the back of the this oil jet. This modification is not recommended for engines that will see any street use as it will lower your oil pressure.

    If using this modification you will need to increase oil pressure with a competition rear oil pressure regulator and shim your front oil pressure regulator spring.

    Racing Beat's 1986-91 13B Non-Turbo (2mm) Carbon Race Apex Seals are specifically designed to replace the stock cast iron apex seals in rotary engines operating near, or above, 8,500 RPM. These aluminum-filled carbon apex seals are a one-piece design, 2mm in thickness, and must be used only with our special Race Apex Seal Springs. We do not believe these seals are appropriate for turbocharged applications because of their fragile nature if subject to detonation.

    We do not recommend the use of 3mm apex seals in the 1986-91 Non-Turbo 13B rotor. If you are experiencing apex seal failure, the probable cause is detonation.
